My husband and I want to thank you for sharing your beautiful vacation home. We spent 8 wonderful days at the Cliff House. The flowers were beautiful and the fruit, coffee, and candies were delicious. The furnishings were very comfortable. We spent most of the time on the lanai watching the ocean and sky. The sunrises, sunsets, and the rain moving in were mesmerizing. We saw single and double rainbows. I don't think that I could ever tire of the view. And I have numerous pictures to prove it. ** ** We also enjoyed the cat and we're not cat lovers. She woke us each morning about 5 am with quiet mewing and reminded us at around 5 pm that it was time to eat again. She loved to be petted and she greeted us whenever we returned. We also enjoyed the three horses. They liked our miniature carrots and came running whenever we were out on the lounge chairs. The hawks soared overhead every day. We were visited by a pod of about 15 dolphins on two occasions. I bet whale season is wonderful there. I even liked the geckos and enjoyed listening to the koke frogs each night. We took a very informative van ride into the valley with Mr. Loo. We were the only ones on that trip and that made it very special. The only thing you lack is access to snorkeling and swimming. **** I will strongly recommend the Cliff House to anyone I know planning a trip to the ****Big** **Island****. You made our 35th wedding anniversary one we will never forget!"****

At The Cliffhouse, you sit & watch the world float by. Sometimes, it's purple, blue and pink. Other times its grey & shades of grey. But always, it pulls you in. You wonder how grand could anything be? The far reach of the sea is unfathomable, and yet, you sit and watch, and wonder. 'HOW GREAT THOU ART' comes to mind and finally all you can do is sigh, feel humbled and say, 'thank you'. Who has not felt the touch of God's great hand here and then take it home with them to call up again at the sudden smell of a sweet-celery like grass along the road, or a soft kissing breeze or maybe the voice of a palm frond high above your head. The drive through the gate becomes a never ending gift, all who have passed this way, have been greatly blessed.

The Hamakua Coast Rocks… Along with the Cliff House!! What a sweet stay – We could not wait to come home and cook dinner – sit on the porch and talk about all the fun + adventures we discovered throughout the day. Our last night ended with a special Rainbow out in the ocean- AWESOME – until next time.

Richard and LiZhu, Breathtaking! All we can say is that you for sharing this! The temptation to keep this all to yourself must be strong we imagine (selfishly)
Thanks again, I can assure you we will be back! P.S. You were very right the only regret is not staying longer.

We traveled all over the island during our stay here. This is in my opinion the most beautiful place on the island. We saw two humpback whales on two mornings. I believe it was a mother + her calf. It was a great stay in a fabulous place. Thank you for all the little extras you so kindly provided.

Beautiful location and home! We were lucky enough to see whales the first evening and a few dolphins as well. Thanks for the use of binoculars! The black sand beach was the highlight of our trip so far. Thanks also for the coffee beans and fruit!

We just feel so fortunate to be able to see this incredible expanse of ocean from the lanai and the living room. And we feel so fortunate to be in a house where we can look every direction and all the most amazing beauty” waterfalls, expansive grassy cliffs and whales jumping out of the sea. WOW, truly it doesn’t get any better than this!
Thank you for the beautiful flower arrangements-they are works of art, and the delicious fruit and banana bread and chocolate covered macadamia nuts.
This place is not to be missed.

Dear Richard and LiZhu, out of all the places we have stayed, this is the best! I have now seen paradise! Your view is amazing: We did see dolphins! The inside of your home was lovely and welcoming, the fruit is delicious!
Thanks for everything!

My sweetie + I spent two unforgettable days here at Cliff House. We climbed the steps and took in the most magnificent + spectacular sceneries and immediately knew we made a mistake by reserving only 2 nights. Once we entered the house we relaxed and took in all of your carefully planned amenities. There sat a welcome basket filled with goodies, especially the macadamia/chocolates that we’re bringing home to Rich’s mom who has an affinity for macadamia + chocolates, the fresh fruit, banana bread and more. You left no stone unturned. We took advantage of the binoculars, the spices, utensils, wine glasses, mugs, candles + CD. We comfortably prepared meals as if we were home in our own kitchen. Right now I’m sitting on the back deck writing these memoirs at the sound of comforting roar of the ocean + the singing birds.
We even managed to make it down Waipio Valley and walked the black sand beach + met 3 wild horses who were as friendly as kitty. Rich wasn’t feeling his best when we arrived but Cliff House has brought him back to good health + his rosy cheeks are back + we are that much more happy + feel reborn and renewed.

When we arrived on the first day it was well past dark. We were amazed with how beautiful the inside of the house was. Your hospitality was evident with the fresh flowers, fruit, and bread that had been left for us. And then we awoke the next morning…Wow! I had seen the photos on the website but had kept our final destination as a surprised for Susan. She was blown away! It is so amazing we almost didn’t leave to go explore the rest of the island.
The location is perfect to explore both sides of the island. The horseback ride along the ridge was breathtaking to say the least. Today we are heading to the volcano.
We cannot imagine a more perfect setting for our honeymoon. We fully intend on coming back - maybe for our anniversary.
