Vacation Rental Home Description

Choose from separate charming accommodations on our historic 35 acre rural farm and garden estate nestled on the hill overlooking Westsound, Turtleback Mountain and the setting sun.

Our focus here on the farm is sustainable living, a lifestyle we like to intertwine with our business, projects, and share with our guests. We like to think of ourselves as having not only a green thumb, but a green heart. Reinvigorate, or perhaps reinvent yourself in this quiet retreat. We will be your gateway to the gem of the San Juan Islands whether you are looking to get out or cherish the 'slow pace' at the farm estate.

Horses, sheep, goats, alpacas graze our pastures. Chickens range freely and cherish their personal gardens. Our fruit trees range in age from 5-91 years old. Bald eagles and hawks nest in snags, eagerly eying our flock of chickens. Venture out onto the trails of our 15 acres of forest. We might not be 'off the grid' just yet, but you will sure be convinced into believing it.

Each unit is built with fine attention to detail and art by the owners, our family. Our projects and landscape are our expression.

The Carriage House: A two level converted barn into three studio/ suites with outside private entrances and patios. Vaulted barn ceilings and a craftsman touch. Kitchenette or full kitchen, pine siding, lively warm colors, salvaged white pickets, glazed tile, and custom cabinetry from wood milled here on the farm. These units each comfortably sleep up to four.

The Farmhouse: A separate farmhouse built for the son-in-law of the original homesteaders on the western side of the property it was recently renovated in 20008-2009 into five separate one and two bedroom suites and studios with warm cottage farmhouse feel. Enjoy your private deck and/or patio accessed by french doors for an evening meal or a morning coffee with the fresh sea air. Plenty of natural light, high ceilings, and large windows. Westerly views of Westsound, Turtleback Mtn., and spectacular sunsets over the water and other islands. Kitchenettes or full kitchen, hardwood floors, custom mill work, tile, and stone. Individual units sleep 4-6 guests

When you reserve a lodging, the owner will personally assist you with your Orcas Island vacation plans. Let us know if you are interested in renting multiple units for larger parties. You will receive a confirmation packet outlining the details of your lodging, literature and maps of our island, a recreation guide, restaurant recommendations, a personal history about our farm and animals. Tours of the farm are additional. Yet just being in and around it is often just enough. We have been cultivating experiential vacations since 1996.

Confirmations are mailed to each of our customers with welcome packets to our farm and Orcas Island, complete with everything you would like to know and what to expect for your vacation.
