The house is a one level 1550 sq. ft. house with a large back yard with patio. Well built in 1958, it has high ceilings, hardwood floors, and newly remodeled bathrooms.

We've renovated the kitchen, and it is stocked with all the dishes, glasses, cooking pots and utensils you could want. Dishwasher, full oven, full refrigerator w/freezer, microwave oven, coffee grinder, coffee maker and 4 burner cook-top.

There's a fireplace, 2 cable tvs, vcr, cd player, a private patio and garden.

Hand- made vintage Persian carpets and Oriental rugs are throughout the house. There are two large comfy sofas in the living room, original art on the walls, some interesting antique furniture and luxurious bed linens. There's a large dining table with 6 chairs in the dining area, and another small table off the kitchen with 4 chairs. The large backyard has a patio furnished with tables & chairs.

Sojourn House is centrally located and easy to find on Vashon's main road, just 1/3 mile south of the village...easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, groceries, and our movie theater.

Imagine a island the size of Manhattan, but with only 10,000 residents. Imagine 250 miles of paved road with only three 4-way stops, and no other traffic lights. Don't expect souvenir shops or glitz. Vashon Island is "upscale rural" with a large arts community. Live music in several venues every week-end. A difficult 9 hole private golf course. 4 excellent restaurants. Our only 'chain' eatery is a Subway. No shopping malls. You can get here by ferry, private boat or small plane. But there are no taxis or car rentals. No hotels or motels. Great views of Puget Sound and Mount Rainier. Come and experience the unique character of Vashon Island!

Vashon Island is ideally ideally situated for your Pacific
Northwest vacation. Accessible only by ferry boat, the Island is a step back in time from the bustle of nearby Seattle and Tacoma. Each is a 15 minute ferry ride away. There is also a 10 minute ferry to the Olympic Peninsula!

Catch a metro bus into Seattle where the opera and theaters are world class. Tacoma's great Point Defiance Zoo is walking distance from the "South End " ferry landing.

Day trips are possible to
Crystal Mountain Ski Resort, Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, the Olympic Mountains and Hurricane Ridge, and the Hoh Rain Forest. One family even went to Victoria, B.C. on Vancouver Island in a day...but that is a pretty long day!

While sojourning on our Island, you may visit the lighthouse, go beachcombing, kayaking, fishing or
diving. You can bicycle our hilly roads, play golf, or walk 1/3 mile from the house to a restaurant or movie in the village.

Enjoy Vashon Island Golf and Counry Club guest privileges including swimming, dining, tennis,
and golf. This is a great equestrian island, with lots of trails (horse rentals available).

The house is not suited for children under 12 years old. The rate for children is the same as an adult.
