Cozy Island Getaway on the Gulf of Mexico, south of Freeport, Texas. Great View of the Gulf. About a block or so from the beach and about 2 blocks from the Quintana Beach County Park with it's historical homes and raised board. The board walk leads to a pedestrian beach where you will find great fishing, swimming, shelling and bird watching. You can also drive on the 6 miles of public beach. Quintana is a quite little island retreat.

This week was a great week. I love this place you guys have, it sure is cute. Even though some of the days weren't sunny and 90 degrees, we still had fun at the yacht club & Jetties. Dale's beachhouse is VERY cozy for two. It's a nice place to visit and just get away from it all. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenary!! Since it's a rather smaller place, it makes perfect for cuddling for either wife/husband or a dating couple. I will definitely be back!! But theres only one problem our ship is in a bottle. Whit a mermaid below carring away a shell. But we still have a view of the beach and our bottle can roll into the Gulf of Mexico so we can float alng with the waves and pass by many many message bottles. We are leaving Quintana Rose this morning and I cannot believe that we have already been here a week or 5 days. Coming from Wisconsin, we were all sort of trying to come with all the humidity and sun. The sunburn I have is alright it was all worth it. I've been writing here at "Quintana Rose" for almost a week. What a great place you have - perfect for a writer needing seclusion, quiet and vst horizons. You should think seriously about incorporating a winter colony here on Quintana Beach (the 4 cabins over the park/) I can think of about a dozen authors off-hand who'd kill for a place like this. (What's going to become of peaceful Quintana when LNG builds their Mega million plant just donw the road?) How depressing!. Loved making new pals at The Jetty and The Yacht Club. I am so happy my husband happened upon the "Quintana Rose" Once inside it's doors, it so reminded me of the cottage in Maine we went to every year until it was sold, torn down and replaced. Quintana was delightful and what we saw of Texas was vast and beautiful sunsets, happy friendly people full of stories and so much history. Upon returning each day from our adventures, (Galveston, River Walk, walking beaches San Antonio, Alamo, Mardi Gras and visiting with Shorty at Denny's) We felt like we were coming "home" once inside your Quintana Rose. The main one was finding an injured pelican on the beach. With all the good there was a bad accident while we were here, and that was someone drowned out by the pier. If I was to change anything, it would be putting a screen around the porch so you can enjoy your nights out on the porch swing. When I get home to Missouri I can say I SURVIVED THE MOSQUITOES!!!
