This house is called the Gold Mine Lodge because there is an actual old gold mine from the 1800's on the property.

Natural stone fireplace in the living room. Stone is from the Black Hills area and crafted by the owner.

Open living room and dining area on the main floor. It is decorated on a nature and wild life theme.

Dining table can seat 10 with extra chairs provided. Also another table & chairs available.

Full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, pots & pans, utensils, dish towels, dish soap, etc.

Bedroom on ground floor with 1 queen bed featuring head board set in a wall of stone.
Safari Bedroom
Bedroom on main floor with 1 queen bed decorated with a safari animal motif.
Wild Life Bedroom
Bedroom on main floor with 1 queen bed decorated on a wild life theme of animals that you will find in the Black Hills area.
Bird Bedroom
Bedroom with 1 queen bed a 1 rollaway bed. On the top floor decorated with a bird theme with bird cages and houses.
Fury Animal Bedroom

This is the old gold mine just a few steps up from the back deck of the house from the 1800's.

Thank you for the comfortable vacation house. We have traveled as an extended family for the past 20 years and this is the first house that was fully equipped. The extra toilet paper, towels, chairs, blankets, etc. made it a very easy week. It was always great to come home after exploring what the hill had to offer. Thank you, the Malenfants group.

The house is nestled up against a rock hill which is a great backdrop. Good hiking on public lands all around the house. All the necessary kitchen utensils are provided, as is a gas grill. The owners have posted lots of instructions throughout the house, most of which are common sense. What you do not see in the pictures is the pasture just to the east of the property. If like the smells of the "country," you will enjoy the scents from the old horse which relieves himself just beyond the fence. You also don't see that this is on a main two lane highway that services a reservoir west of the property.

Just returned home after vacation in the Black Hills. We spent 3 nights in this wonderful home away from home. Trust me, the pictures don't do it justice. The owners have thought of EVERYTHING! They even arranged for beautiful views from every window in the place. And a few surprises in the trees behind the lodge. Terrific place for a vacation - whether you just want to relax or see everything the area has to offer.
