I highly recommend Heart of the Hills Vacation Homes to anyone who is looking for high quality lodging in the Black Hills. We had a week long stay for a destination wedding. The location was easy to find and was located right off a major highway. When I say it was FULLY furnished, I am referring to 15 place settings, full kitchen with everything we needed from bedding, grills, cleaning products, etc..... The hottub was clean and well maintained. The quality of the decor and furnishings were excellent and we enjoyed the beautiful views with horses, in the mornings wild turkey and deer. (we stayed in the Lariat & the Outlaw lodges) Beautiful! Thank you to a wonderful staff!

My wife and I and our two college-aged sons stayed at the Marshall Gulch Getaway cabin the first week of August, 2005. As other reviewers have said, it is a fine property. We would definitely stay there again. It was clean and more than met our needs for the week: nice front porch, gas grill, satellite TV, hot tub, fully furnished, large kitchen, washer and dryer, comfortable beds.
I have posted a short video clip of the cabin for others who might be interested in renting the cabin. Our family vacation with 7 led us to the Marshall Gulch Getaway cabin pictured here. It was wonderful! The beautiful pines were so refreshing. Favorite memories at this cabin were sitting on the bench looking out at Harney Peak in the distance, awaking early seeing the deer grazing on the grass within feet of the cabin, and watching how much fun grandpa and grandma had in the outdoor hot tub! It was a perfect location to vacation. We could go in a different direction each day. Five days was just too short. We'll be back some day!

This cabin is extremely comfortable and felt like a home away from home. My son fell on the bed and said, "now, isn't this just the life!" The location is absolutely beautiful. We spent the mornings drinking coffee on the porch, smelling the refreshing pine air, and watching the sun come up over the tree tops. Definitely worth the stay if someone is wanting a relaxing vacation away from home.

We have stayed at Marshall Gulch several times and find it to be one of the coziest and private rentals in the area. The surrounding area is beautiful and the accommodations are first class. The owners are AWESOME and make this a vacation spot you will never forget. It is close to all area attractions, but just far enough away to remove you from the bustle when your day of sightseeing is over. Quaint, cute, cozy and romantic. We are anxious to try the new rental, the Outlaw Inn, this coming winter.

Hello, My family and my wifes sisters family (6 people) have Rented Rippling Creek Haven from Kim and Marcia Benning at Heart of the Hills Vacation Homes for the past three summers. The cabin is in a great location, right along the Mickelson Trail and within a short driving distance of the many great atractions. The Cabin is beautiful in and out and the views are great. And the Bennings are great hosts. If you are going to the Black Hills be sure and try this Cabin out. We highly recomend it. Thank You Rich Gergen

My family rented the Roosevelt for a week in July, 2003, and it was absolutely beautiful. The weather was great, 80's in the day and starry 60's at night. The cabin was very clean and well kept. The hot tub at night under the stars was unbelievable and the deck and warm sun in the morning made that cup of coffee a new experience. Beds were comfortable and kitchen and bathrooms modern and clean. No stream for us but the horses and "Wendy" the dog made up for it. Washington cabin closer than I thought it would be but far enough we didn't hear or see the other family's comings and goings. The 3 mile drive into the cabin at times was long but we ran into mountain sheep and cows and deer every once-in-awhile that made it exciting. Only thing missing was the dishwasher otherwise I would highly recommend this cabin. It was a very quiet and beautiful place to stay and we would highly recommend it to anyone! Our family of 5 had plenty of room with the 3 bedrooms - everyone had their own bed.
