Cabin Rentals Reviews for Black Hills Diamond Dale Vacation Log Home in Black HillsJanuary 14, 2007Reviewer: Kara O'Neal From: Des Moines, IowaWe stayed at this beautiful home the last week of my childrens summer vacation. What a perfect place to end the summer. The home really lends itself to "family bonding" yet there was plenty of room to spread out for our family of seven! Viewing stars from the hot tub, and playing one of the many board games left in the house were awesome ways to end the evenings after days spent seeing the sights. Also the cabin is nicely centered between the northern and southern attractions. Our only regrets were Lead/Deadwood-VERY tacky with slot machines everywhere, not worth the drive(although the drive through Silver Canyon to get there was gorgeous and the best part of our daytrip). Also DO NOT waste money trying to eat at "authentic" western restaurants. They are overpriced and just bland. Our best meal of the trip were the burgers we grilled on the deck! The kitchen in the cabin was very easy to cook in, and when we come back, we will definitely eat more meals there. Our children (ages 8, 10, 12, 14, and 15) really enjoyed themselves and we found more activities than we had days to spend! Can't wait to come back! The location alone is a great asset to the property. In the true center of all Black Hills attraction. The scenery and wildlife are spectacular. Simple to find but secluded perfectly. We had a blast during bike week 2004. the weather was a little cooler than what we had expected in August. We still managed to ride over five hundred miles during our stay. The house was even better than described in the brochure or on the website. The house's setting in just breathtaking. Very relaxing to come home to after long days of riding in the Black Hills. We cooked like gourmets and ate like kings all week long. Outstanding kitchen facilities. The drive to the cabin is beautiful and the scenery at the cabin is wonderful. The cabin was neat, clean and well-equipped to meet all our needs --- three baths, hottub, fireplace, laundry facilities, everything you need in the kitchen. We were 30 minutes from Terry Peak skiing and Deadwood gambling. Our family of six played games, read books, watched movies, enjoyed the hottub and enjoyed each other after a full day of skiing.
