In Italian, Capodimonte means "The top of the mountain." Nestled between the Balsam and the Alarka Mountain Ranges and located just outside Dillsboro, NC on top of Piney Mountain, Eagle's Nest at Capodimonte offers you quiet, secluded comfort, and breathtaking, unbelievable views of the Great Smoky Mountains. The views can be enjoyed from your deck or from inside the apartment through a 26 foot wall of glass.
Capodimonte, found off the beaten path but not far from the action, is located 3 miles from Dillsboro, a quaint turn-of-the-century town, which offers fine dining, fine shops, and memorable excursions on the Great Smoky Mountains Railway.
The Biltmore House; Asheville, NC; and Gatlinburg, TN are a pleasant 45 mile drive away. Around the corner you'll find Maggie Valley, Waynesville, and Cherokee,NC. In Cherokee, located just 10 minutes away, you can try your luck at Harrah's Smoky Mountains Casino,visit the living museum at the Oconaluftee Indian Village, the Cherokee Heritage Museum, or enjoy the timeless drama "Unto These Hills." In Waynesville, visit the many fine shops, art galleries, and restaurants.
The adventurous can raft the area's many whitewater rivers, hike the numerous trails in the area, take in 18 holes at any of the beautiful mountain courses located nearby, or snow ski at any of the three area resorts: Cataloochee in Maggie Valley; Sapphire Valley, in Cashiers, or Ober Gatlinburg.
Completed in May, 1999, Eagle's Nest offers Eagle One and Eagle Two, chalet apartments providing guests with breathtaking, panoramic views of the mountains and exceptional comfort and luxury. Each unit has a full, fully equipped kitchen, private bath, and well appointed furnishings. Included are conveniences such as air-conditioning, washer/dryer, satellite TV, VCR, Stereo CD player, and a gas grill on each deck.
Eagle's Nest at Capodimonte now offers accommodations for as few as two guests or as many as six guests. Completed in January, 2001, Eagle's Nest at Capodimonte offers Eagle's Lair, a full two bedroom two bath chalet that accommodates up to six people. Guests staying in the chalet can enjoy the views of the Great Smokies from inside and outside as the exterior walls are floor to ceiling glass. Spacious decks and a covered porch provide places to enjoy the views, grill a favorite meal, or relax with some music and a favorite drink. After a busy, fun filled day, look forward to retreating to the well appointed comfort of your suite at Eagle's Nest at Capodimonte ~ a vacation spot you won't soon forget!

Eagles Lair had wonderul views, sitting on the back deck and overlooking the whole area is just breathtaking. Plenty of room for guests, 2 large tables seat 6 on deck and about 5-6 other chairs. Inside is cleaner than any place we stay - Great Job!!! Oven did not work when we where there but not a problem, we BBQ'd. Patrick was very accommodating, I had to bake a cake for our son's birthday and they allowed me to use another unit oven for that, worked out GREAT.... Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful, we will be back again. Thank You!!
