We absolutely loved it! We stayed a week with my parents and in-laws along with my husband and our 3 boys. Caught tons of fish and hiked, played in the stream, roasted marshmallows ...too much to name it all. We didn't want to leave after a week. We'll be going back next year! The only thing that worried me were the stairs leading to the downstairs. We had 2 little ones and the stairs are a spiral staircase. We just blocked the entrance to it and watched them carefully in the house (which wasn't often.)

We must have caught 40 trout on our weekend vacation here! My family and I had one of the most memorable vacations at Chestnut Lodge. Even though there was a Television, it never came on. Too much hiking, marshmallow roasts and fishing to waste time watching tv. The cool night air made us sleep like babies. We can't wait until Spring Break to take a trip back up again. The only feedback I would provide is that we got lost going up because there are rental cabins with the same road name as our lodge. It delayed us in getting there, but it was well worth it.

One of the best vacations we ever had. After hanging around the fire, we sleeped comfortaby at night and enjoyed the view & creek by day. Best place in town!
