Cabin Rentals Reviews for Quiet Lake Front Lodge, Near Saranac & Lake Placid in Rainbow Lake

August 16, 2011

Finding a vacation place for nine people seemed overwhelming until I spotted Lazy Days Lodge. It's always scary thinking that a place is not going to be what it looks like in pictures or the description. This place was everything and more. If your looking for a well kept, clean and spacious rental, this is it. Look no more. The vote was unamimous. The room we enjoyed the most was the screened in porch that runs the length of the lodge. Watching the Loon parents feeding their young at the shoreline from the porch was priceless. Being able to dock our kayaks at the sandy beach made life easier. We had more fun sitting at the huge kitchen table and using the lazy susan that sits in the middle of it. Like some alone time? Not a problem. The large family room downstairs, living room upstairs, sitting areas in bedrooms, and the leanto by the waters edge all accomodate this. Plus the layout of the property and being in a cove on Rainbow Lake, gives this place a very private feel. I'm already dreaming of my next lazy days vacation and we all agreed we'd go back again!

We stayed here for our family vacation in July 2010, it was fabulous. A great mix of a nice house, great lake and access to lots of things to do- both indoors and outdoors.
We're going back again soon.

We truly had a wonderful time at "Lazy Days" on Rainbow Lake. The house is specious yet cozy it had everything we needed. The comment was made several times that you could be down by the lake and it felt like we were camping yet you could walk up to the house and had all the comforts of home.

What a fantastic rental!!! We had a GREAT week staying at Lazy Days Lodge. Though the weather was chilly, we spent many nights having smores on the beach and reading or playing games by the living room wood stove. This house is well kept with new furnishings and plenty of room for multi generation visits. (we had three grandparents, two parents and three grandchildren) The children loved the rustic bunk beds, the decor was fitting for a lake side home and having the lake view out your window was priceless. How we enjoyed listening each day for the call of the loons. Don't pass up a wonderful place to stay and to create memories that will last forever!

We are grandparents to a family of three grown children, their spouses and five grandchildren. For the past 8 years we have given them a vacation somewhere different for their Christmas gift. They all agree, this was the best ever. We rented for the Holiday week of 2006. Lazy Days Lodge is the best equipped vacation home we have found. We're avid snowmobilers and the big foyer is great for depositing snowy gear. Miles of trails are right across the road from the house. The photos do not do this house justice. Rooms are well arranged for large families and the kitchen dining table large enough for us all to be seated together. The terrain was ideal for the little ones to snowboard and sled. If I had to find a drawback the only one would be the lack of cell phone service. Five stars for Lazy Days Lodge.

Lazy Days Lodge is a very nice, updated, spacious, well-equipped home in a great location. We had 12 of us (8 adults, 4 kids) and felt the house was the perfect size. The separate family and living rooms allowed people to get away from each other when they wanted to. The huge screen porch (with no outside access/steps) was great for relaxing, and especially for young kids to play safely. (The website is awesome, but it's hard for photos to do justice to the spaciousness of the rooms. They are all quite large). The beach/dock areas were great. Having them separated kept the beach safe from fishing hooks/equipment. The beach being in a little cove made it easy to watch the kids and keep them coralled as they played in the water. Rainbow Lake is awesome for kayaking (lots of little inlets/islands/adjoining ponds to explore). Minimal motor traffic. And on top of all of this, less than 15 minutes to downtown Saranac Lake and 25 minutes to Lake Placid. It was the ideal mountain/lake vacation for our extended family. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing lake vacation.
