This relaxing retreat home has a primitive 270' shoreline with a private dock and boat tie-up area. Whether your idea is lying in your favorite recliner reading your favorite book or listening to the call of the loons, sand-hill cranes, bald-eagles, or watching deer or just the natural sounds of nature; this is your place! We had a great time! Dick and Louise were on top of everything..and the house is very comfortable. It was great to have room to spread out and enjoy vacation without being right on top of each other!

A place for true relaxation.
A lovely and comfortable house. My two daughters (2 1/2 and 4) both felt completely at home; although the house is not child-proofed, I never feared for their safety (or that they might break something).
We made good use of the canoe, paddling daily a half-mile to the small beach where the girls had a blast.
The property is on the shallower end of the lake, which is great: no loud motors blasting by to ruin the peace and quiet. Quiet enough that there is a beaver lodge no more than 30 feet from the dock.
If you want to relax with all the comforts in natural surroundings, 2 Pines 'Hide Away' is for you.

We had a wonderful time at your beautiful lake home. We caught several northern pike and bass using your row-boat. We felt very much at home, falling asleep to the sounds of the loons brings back many happy memories.

This is a very nice house right on Shirt Lake near Deerwood, MN. Closest town is maybe 5 miles. Very quiet. Lake is very low in 2007, so don't plan on doing boating. Use the time reading, relaxing, enjoying the quiet and peacefulness of the place. Owners are very friendly, and keep the place spotless. We would stay again when we just want to get away from the normal routine.

We stayed here for the 4th of July holiday and truly enjoyed the space in the house and the fabulous yard and peace and quiet the surrounding provided for our group. The house was spacious to invite plenty of friends over for a rather large get together, extremely clean and the owners were a delight to work with

This house is fantastic! I vacationed here for a week with my wife, 2 small children and my parents. There was plenty of room for all of us. The house was large for us all to be very comfortable and it was also very clean!! Also the Gossens have this set up very nice with everything you need!!! We brought along many things because we were not sure what we would need. When we do this again the we now know the only thing we will need is our clothes and our food. They already have towels, untensils, pots and pans, firewood for purchase, etc. They have this setup very nice. There are even some movies they have on hand that you can watch. We brought along a few Dora DVDs for my daughter to watch at the end of the night. This house is only minutes from a very well known LARGE lake called Bay Lake. We also visited Paul Bunyan Land with the kids and that was a lot of fun as well. This is an A+++ place!

We stayed in July 2006 for the first time. The house is beautiful and very spacious. There was plenty of room for us to sit and visit, or just play games. Fishing was fantastic! Two of the boys caught a 35 and 36 inch Northern. :) We can't say enough good things about how much we enjoyed ourselves there. Our family wants to make it a yearly trip.

This has always been a wonderful place for us to visit. The fish are always biting, except for one time last year but we still had fun. We enjoy the quiet setting with the loons calling and just taking in the view from the deck or sitting on the dock and enjoying the breezes off the lake. We've stayed overniteand have been very comfortable and had the whole lower level to ourselves. Thanks Dick and Louise for lots of good times.

We have been coming to this lake home for years. It is close enough to anything you want to do. Golf, casino, shopping, etc. or you can just stay in relax in the absolutly quiet, private, spacious yard. You can catch numerious pan fish right off the dock. Our favorite is at night with the windows open you can hear the loons & owls, most of the night.
