Excellent Food and amazingly Friendly
My friend and I decided to go to the Cape for the Weekend but by the time we had made up our minds, all of the 4-star hotels and B&B's in the area were sold out for the weekend. First, the location is great. It's less than a 5 minute walk to Nature trails, Museums, antique shops, and the Bay, or to the beach as well (maybe a 20-30 minute walk). It's definitely an older hotel/-inn with some wear and tear but I didn't see any dirt or disrepair anywhere in the common areas. The room we stayed in was on the second floor of the Main Inn, off of the parking lot. The room was large and spacious. The carpets and bedding were clean & comfortable, the bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water, the towels were large and soft.
The staff was very pleasant. The young woman at the front desk helped my friend by doing a Google search for a quilting shop my friend thought was in the area. She also provided some great ideas of other towns in the area to visit on our way home.
The breakfast was nice - homemade blueberry & cranberry muffins, homemade waffles with real maple syrup, banana nut bread, two different quiches, juice, freshly cut up fruit, coffee, etc. Our breakfast server, was both sweet and caring. All aspects of our dinners were unusually excellent.
Overall, the Colonial House Inn was very good. It had a great location, was clean, the staff was nice, the breakfast was good, and the price was reasonable. Bill & Nancy

We spent three lovely nights at this very centrally located Inn. We originally chose it because of it's location. Although our room was not large it was very comfortable with all the amenities we needed. When we discovered that the diners were included, at this low price, we were very skeptical. Well we tried it. The food was excellent and beautifully served We were amazed at the many choices We made a point of dining there & tried different items each nite. All meals were excellent and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. We have already booked to stay again during the Christmas Holidays
