To the north of the resort are the slopes of the gorgeous mountains of East Molokai with their sharply-cut valleys and cloud-covered summits. About ten miles farther up the
road is the majestic Halawa Valley, while the charming main town of Kaunakakai, is an easy, shoreline drive 13 miles to the west. Kaunakakai includes retail shops, restaurants, banks, post office, library, supermarkets, car rentals, an internet café and almost anything else a traveler or resident could want. Molokai, with its population of approximately 8000 is the last vestige of an older, slower Hawai(no stop lights on the island!). A true Pacific paradise.
