We very much enjoyed our stay at Hale Mar. Your FedEx packet was complete
and extremely well thought out. The kitchen was very well stocked, and had a
good variety of cooking pans, pots and serving pieces. It was so nice to
have seasonings there plus sugar and rice. Probably the best stocked kitchen
we have ever encountered. The beach towels and regular towels were very
nice. Having a drying rack in the laundry was thoughtful and necessary. The
home was decorated and furnished very nicely, master bed very comfortable.
The big walk-in closet was GREAT. Large shower with shower head was high and
removable was really appreciated. Nice regular sized hair dryer in master
bath. Shampoos and shower gels well stocked. Your guest book is the best we
have seen. Used it constantly. Other books you had in sideboard were helpful
too. The quiet and seclusion of Hale Mar was excellent. We greatly enjoyed
the nightly serenade of tree frogs and the pounding surf. Hearing and seeing
the whales was amazing. The whale sound at night startled me the first time
I heard it. It was loud! Once we knew what it was it brought tears to our
eyes hearing the "talking" out there. Watching sea turtles work in the surf
to catch their meals was delightful. Not having a lot of lights outside is
something we really appreciate because we love to stargaze.

The views are incredibly majestic and breathtaking. The levels of relaxation
are at a maximum high from the waves crashing on to the shore, land and sea
animals singing at night, and the cool breeze that blows through the balcony
windows and doors. The location and friendly atmosphere, in addition to all
things listed before, have made our stay here at Hale Mar the most amazing
and beautiful stay of a lifetime!

We did enjoy the house, pool and hot tub; we loved the location, the house, the view right on the ocean and the privacy. All our expectations were met, and we want to thank you for all the informative information you provided us and for the lovely property. It is as viewed on the website, just lovely. I would recommend anyone looking to stay on the Big Island to stay at Hale Mar. It was very close to many sights. I recommend exploring the Hawaiian Volcano National Park, the black sand beach (gorgeous) where green sea turtles come up on shore in the morning, and the green sand beach (if you're up for a hike - the sight is beautiful, and the locals will drive you back for a donation). Everyone is so nice and laid back on the Big Island. I would also suggest Crater Rim Rd drive in the park and a helicopter ride over the active lava flow and all the waterfalls. We really appreciate all the amenities provided at Hale Mar and once again thank you so much. We loved it and I look forward to possibly taking my niece the next time and staying at Hale Mar.

We loved our visit and loved the house! It was so spacious with lots of towels and toiletries which are hard to travel with so it was great that they were provided. Having recommendations on places to go and things to see was great - as was local directions to stores and restaurants. The pool and hot tub with amazing views was a huge bonus. We even saw whales from the upstairs deck. It was great to have a wonderful home to stay in. We were thrilled that so many things were provided that made our visit so much easier. For example - having condiments in the fridge and rain slickers in the closet. Visiting the volcano at night or early morning while still dark - not to be missed

What a wonderful vacation! After a fun day of hiking and
exploring the Big Island, it was wonderful to come back to
beautiful Hale Mar to relax in the hot tub and pool and
enjoy the sound of the ocean. Jared and I loved sharing our
morning coffee watching the waves crash and looking for
turtles swimming around. Laura and Marty were so

Hokumanis Steakhouse and cliff diving off Southern point with

We have loved our stay in Hale Mar; it's spectacular! The
ocean looks like it's going to come through the sliding
door. The weather has been good. The first day it was quite
stormy as a system lurked around, and we worried about the
rest of the stay. But it cleared up and has done the Hilo
thing...intermittent rain from time to time mixed with
gorgeous days. The main lesson we learned was: don't sweat
the weather! Proceed with your plans and most of them won't
be affected. We drove the scenic seashore drive that is
south and east of your area and really enjoyed some
spectacular scenes. We also visited the tidal pools. Other
visits: Rainbow Falls (but didn't see a rainbow) and Akaka
Falls (wow...really spectacular, and the drive to get there
is great; stop at the bakery in the little town it takes you
through for German-inspired taste treats) As much as
anything though, we have loved your incredible home and just
being here doing nothing except listening to the sea roll in
against the rocks. Thanks much for sharing it!

We loved Hale Mar... seems hard to believe that it was a month
