The owner ended up calling us back after we got home, very understanding and nice guy. Ended up comping our cleaning fee and one nights rent. At least they try and make it right in the end.
In the end - I would still do it all - view was amazing, relaxing and peaceful. Like we had our own little piece of the mountain.

Blue Sky Cabin Rentals - Choose another rental company After getting all of our groceries and driving 4.5 hours to our cabin, my boyfriend and I arrived 35 minutes after we were allowed to check-in. To find that there was no key in the key-lock box. We could see the key on the kitchen counter and when we called management they were like "Are you sure it’s not in the lock box?" I think I can figure that one out. They were very short with us. Apparently, there was confusion on their end and our cabin was not cleaned before we arrived. They would not tell us how long it would take to clean the cabin until our 3rd call, after we drove into Blue Ridge to kill some time and let our groceries get warm - good thing we thought ahead and had ice packs. We asked if there was any compensation due to us not being able to get into our cabin until 3.5 hrs AFTER we were "allowed" to...they said they would talk to the owner and call us back...they never did. They day we were leaving - check out at 11 am, we called to see if they had any new information - they said we could stay until 1 pm...would have been nice to know before we packed the car. Very beautiful view, many things were broken or missing in the cabin (chairs broken, nails coming out of cabins, air hockey table too broken to play with, things over the bed falling, no conditioner, body soap as promised), lots of dog hair over all of the furniture. Tip to the wise - pet friendly is only nice for people with pets.
We rented A-Frame of Mind – advertized as a 1 bedroom, 1 full bath but were confused when we found a second bedroom not shown online on the main floor, interesting! Never found the dishwasher, hammock and the phone and DSL internet did not work either…must have been hiding in the lock box too.
The area was very beautiful and pleasant - just try a different company. A must when going to Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Copperhill, TN or McCayville, GA - Mercier Orchards. So wonderful – lots to buy and see – very neat!

We stayed at Cold Mountain Pond over the Christmas holiday and LOVED the cabin. The cabin was spotless and we found everything to be top notch. The cabin is awesome and would highly recommend it to anyone. We had snow and it was just beaqutiful, like a winter wonder land.We have stayed with blue sky several times and find their cabins to be clean and just as advertised.

Cold Mountain Pond Cabin We drove 10 hours with 2 kids got to the cabin opened the lock box and NO key. We searched around and found a hide a key finally. Get in the cabin and it was not CLEAN. We had to do the laundry, make beds, take out the trash,cle...an the fireplace etc. Called Blue Sky they say"Sorry we couldnt get there to clean". Sorry, wecame from Florida and we got there and they didnt bother to call to tell us. We put our kids to sleep in the loft and they wake up screaming "THERES MICE", yes MICE running around and squeaking. We could hear them all over. We called Blue Sky again and they Say" Theres nothing they can do, if we want we can leave." We know the cabin is in the woods and it was cold out but the attitude of Blue Sky was horrible. I didnt go on vacation to clean up and listen to mice all night.

This was our second rental with Blue Sky but our last. Our first time at R neck of the woods was wonderful, fully stocked, and clean and we even had a bear visit us. This time we booked 3 days over New Year’s weekend. For $200 a night one would expect toilet paper to be included, but when we called we were told that only one roll was included for all three days. Well guys, after you’ve driven up a steep mountain road you won’t feel like doing it again so make sure you bring TP, Kleenex, and paper towels. And, if you bring a Blackberry, not a newspaper, you’ll need something to start a fire with; kindling/newspaper too was not included. We did have an empty lighter on the mantel and wet matches outside. Most dishes were dirty so we had to wash everything over again, but this workout well as we had to make the 45 min drive back down the mountain anyway. Now this was not a Blue Sky problem but the prior guests.

We stayed at the Stargazer Cabin for one week October 7,06 till October 14,06. We had a great time. Really enjoyed ourselves resting, using the hot-tub and taking in the views. We went to the town of Blueridge and walked around everyone was very friendly and nice, we also appreciated them being so pet friendly! Our Two four-legged children really enjoyed themselves at the cabin. We are already making plans on a return trip soon! Thank you for letting us use your cabin. The Taylor's
