Level 3 epis, 4 stars for comfort and charm, can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children

Situated in the quiet village of St Michel le Cloucq, 5 kms from the old capital of Fontenay le Compte, 30 kms from Niort and 50 kms from La Rochelle and the beaches of the Atlantic.
The cottage is in the Saint Michel le Cloucq village, 3 miles from Fontenay le Comte.
Here you can discover the charm of both South Vendee and Marais Poitevin and their rich heritage: Nieul sur l'Autize Abbey, Maillezais Abbey, roman churches, the renaissance town of Fontenay le Comte, the slow-paced lifestyle, boat rides in Marais Poitevin or hiking in the large forested Vendée region of Mervent-Vouvant.
There are several footpaths and cycle paths leading from the house.
You could spend your holiday visiting the well known sites such as Puy de Fou, the Futuroscope theme park or Fort Boyard, the sea and the Atlantic coast, beaches in Faute sur Mer, Tranche sur Mer and Sables d'Olonne or La Rochelle and Ile de Ré, which are not too far from our gîte.

The cottage is comfortably furnished with antique country furniture and has been restored in keeping with the original style with exposed stone walls and tiled and wood floors.

Ground floor: living room with fireplace, Satellite TV with free French and foreign channels, VCR, DVD player, Hi-Fi and telephone; separate kitchen fitted with a dishwasher, microwave and electric oven; utility room with washing machine and freezer; bathroom; double bedroom with TV, DVD player and en suite shower room.
First floor: one double room and one twin room on the mezzanine. Towels, tea towels and bed linen provided. Beds are made on arrival. Also available: books, videos, DVDs and board games. Free WiFi internet access.
Outside: private garden and sunny terrace, garden furniture and deckchairs, dining area with barbeque. Mountain bikes available.

Travel to the Vendée is convenient, with road links to the Channel ports improved by new motorways in recent years. St Malo is only 3 hours away. In addition, the airport at La Rochelle (55 minutes) is served by two airlines from the UK (Ryanair and BE) and the larger airport a Nantes (1 hour) is part of the networks of both British Airways and Air France.
