Cabin Rentals Reviews for Charming Beach Cottage in Ponte Vedra Beach

Wow! The pictures do not do this property justice! This was the best place I have ever rented! Have been to many beaches and rented many homes! Loved this place and will rent it again! Comfortable accommodations, well equipped, awesome setting and so so relaxing. I can not wait to rent it again! The owner is great! Loved the basket of goodies (Lindt 85% is my favorite) and so helpful with any questions! We all had a great time. Thanks Carol!

This is our first time staying at this lovely home and location, and our first time renting a private vacation home. Everything about our trip was delightful (except the Raven's embarrassing loss against the Jaguars!! - the reason for our trip). Carolyn was easy to reach, promptly responded to my many questions and has a lovely and comfortable home immediately on the beach. We were a group of 6 adults and had a great time. The guys took out the kayaks, we walked endless miles on the beach each day, finding tons of conch shells and a few sand dollars! We rarely seen another person on the beach and when we did we noticed the locals wearing heavy sweatsuits (us in beach wear!) as it was low 70's and probably chilly for them. Visited St Augustine for a day and ended our trip by visiting Amelia Island. The location is private but within an easy car drive to town. The house was well equipped and comfortable - LOVED the lounge chairs outside. I can't say enough good things. Would love to visit again! We felt very welcome!

This is the second time that I have vacationed at this quaint little cottage which is remarkably equipped with everything any family could ever need. My four adult daughters, my young grandson and myself have enjoyed memorable, carefree days, wonderful beach walks and runs, ocean kayaking (kayaks provided), family cookouts (grill provided), amazing sunrises and convenient day trips to nearby St Augustine. Pelican Pass is located on an exceptionally beautiful stretch of beach and is aptly named, as graceful pelicans fly by routinely. The early evening skies are the most remarkable you will ever see. I love this place. To vacation here means total relaxation, endless beauty, peace and serenity.

This ocean front home is a perfect getaway for a family vacation. The home has large bedrooms and a wonderful kitchen! The beach is barely occupied by others. Also, this home is in a wonderful location, just minutes from downtown St. Augustine.

My 3 sisters and I rented this great cottage for 5 nights the first week of May. It was the perfect spot for a girls get-away. Everything was provided from beach towels to lounge chairs to tumblers. Nicely appointed home and very clean! Carolyn left a beautiful basket of goodies on the table for us as well. It was a totally relaxing vacation in a beautiful spot. Hardly anyone on the beach - a true paradise! Perfect for 2 couples or a girls get-away. Two of us slept in th "kids" room (complete with Nemo and company!) but were very comfortable. You won't be disappointed if you rent this beach front house!

I love this wonderful cottage! I rented it as a gift to myself for my 50th birthday a couple of years ago. In January 2010 I brought my husband back with me. We walked the beach, hiked in Guana Park & soaked in St. Augustine's antiquities. The location is ideal & the cottage itself is cozy & warm. My favorite aspect though is the proximity to the beach. I love sitting on the couch in the morning with my coffee watching the sun rise. Ahhhhh..... It doesn't get much better than that! Carolyn has left nothing to chance. :-)

Our stay at Pelican Pass was simply wonderful! The oceanfront yet private beach location of the cottage was ideal and the accomodations were top notch. My husband and I always look for something special when we travel... we like to find those places that feel like they could be our own home. This met all of our expectations and even more. The inside of the cottage was very roomy and oh so comfortable. From the welcome basket on the dining table to the fireplace in the living area, the space invited us in. From the oceanfront bedrooms you could go to sleep watching the stars and hearing the waves come in. The outdoor living spaces made the property seem even larger. Two sun patios with lounging and dining spaces were my favorite spots. I had to tear myself away to even go inside. The oceanfront private beach was beyond compare! We will certainly keep this cottage on our MUST stay list.

3 generations of my family stayed at Pelican Pass and we all enjoyed a very comfortable week. The cottage is well furnished and a perfect holiday home for all from Grandad to Grandson. The fresh flowers and welcome basket were greatly appreciated as were the toys - both inside and out.

We have stayed at Carolyn Woods, Pelican Pass two times and each time it gets better! Carolyn provides everything you could possibly want or need. I love her place, it is so cozy and comfortable. The sunset at night on the patio are absolutely breath taking, the sound of the ocean roar while you rest your head on her lovely fluffy pillows, drifts you into a dream of paradise and enchanting themes. It is clean and your little ones have all they need to keep busy. I recommend this lovely cottage to anyone who wants a vacation that has everything! Thanks Carolyn

Love this wonderful beach cottage. Carolyn provides everything you could possibly imagine. Very clean and homey atmosphere. Loved every moment we were there. We all wished we could have stayed longer. The roses and welcome basket is a very thoughtful gesture. I cannot think of one thing negative to say about this beach cottage. We had a most memorable stay and will definitely return if at all possible. Thanks, Carolyn, for everything.

For the second year in a row, I stayed at Pelican Pass for a meeting in Ponte Vedra and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. This year, the padded lounge chairs were a GREAT addition. Also, it was nice having the wireless internet. (I don't remember it last year if it was there.) The best part is that it's private and not a crowded beach. I will definitely book this cottage again in 2010 to coincide with my meeting dates.

Best vaction cottage we've ever rented. Pictures don't do it justice; fabulous location, beautifully decorated, with everything you'll need. Children's room is great and so are all the toys.

My family of five, husband and three kids (ages 8, 11 and 16), stayed at Pelican Pass from December 27 to January 3, 2009. We had such a wonderful relaxing vacation at the cottage and would love to return again and again. The house is warm, clean, and cozy with the beach and ocean as the backyard. We especially like Pelican Pass' proximity to the Guana Preserve and St. Augustine. The welcome basket and beautiful flowers were great and much appreciated.

My husband and I needed to go to Jacksonville last month and were thrilled that we were able to stay again in Pelican Pass – this time for two weeks. We had also stayed there in November of 2008.

I can’t stress enough how lovely and restful this three bedroom home is – with the Atlantic Ocean outside your living room door. The home is equipped with everything you need - a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, a television in every room, and towels, just to name a few essentials. It's great for either a romantic getaway or for a family vacation - great for kids.

Pelican Pass is just a ten minute drive to St. Augustine, a lovely historic town, and about a 40 minute drive to Jacksonville, a relaxed drive for me with its picturesque roads. We love the comfortable homey feel of Pelican Pass and will without a doubt return again on our next trip to Jacksonville.

This feedback is for the person that's hesitant to rent this home. Because I was also! I worried (Is it clean),(Will we have enough beds),(what about the beach,is it clean and private),also with 10 family members for a week (will the house be large enough so i can have my own space).
The answer is yes to all of above!

The home was great! Live flowers on coffee table,a welcome basket on dining table, kitchen completely furnished just bring food. Bedrooms very nice and private, bathrooms very clean!!!!

Also had Toys for all ages!

Thanks for a great Vacation,

We stayed at Pelican Pass in July. I have a family of 5 - a husband, 2 teenagers and a 10 year old. This cottage was PERFECT. From the moment we walked through the front door, we knew it. The first morning, after the first night's great sleep on the well appointed beds with opulent pillows, I was sitting on the patio watching a shrimp troller off in the distance. I thought, "I wish I could see that boat better." Suddenly, I noticed a set of binoculars just inside the back door. That's how I would describe this place. "I wish" and it's already there. My kids and husband wore themselves out playing with all the toys. We were never at a loss for something to do. I would highly recommend this cottage, although reluctantly. We plan on visiting it at least 2 or 3 times a year and if everyone else knows how great it is, it may not be available when we want it again.

I stayed here for a meeting instead of the more expensive Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club and ended up with a better place that was more private. It exceeded my expectations. I found it amusing that pelicans do continuously pass over the back deck. This place is perfect for a private uncrowded beach get-away.

This home was even better that we had imagined. Everything here was perfect. It was as if we had stepped into another time and left the chaotic modern-day world behind. I would recommend this house to anyone who needs a real "get away"

We stayed at this cottage in mid April, 2007. The cottage more than met our expectations. It was clean, beautifully decorated (including fresh flowers and a welcome basket), and had every imaginable beach toy available. It was convenient to both Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine. We absolutely loved staying at Pelican Pass Cottage and would recommend it to anyone!

We would recommend this cottage any day. Neat and cozy and right on the beach. Completely equipped with beach towels, chairs and beach umbrellas. Children's toys were a bonus. Very affordable and everything provided. Near St Augustine which we enjoyed immensely. The time we spent with our children and grand daughter will provide wonderful memories that will last a life time.

My wife and I stayed at the cottage from January 11 through January 18, 2007 and we both agree that Pelican Pass Cottage is a wonderful place to vacation, not only because it is on the ocean and a beautiful beach, but because it is close to St. Augustine and Jacksonville and all they have to offer. The cottage is near perfect in every way. It is neat and clean and stocked with anything a person living in a home could ask for. The weather was wonderful (a bit warmer than normal), and that allowed us to take full advantage of the beach and area. We would not hesitate to return to the cottage.

When I rented Pelican Pass Cottage, I had no idea how perfectly it would suit our needs. Along with my mother and four sisters, I rented the cottage for the week of Oct 4-10, 2006. Our younger brother, who lives in Jacksonville Beach, has cancer and ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), so the circumstances of our visit were less than desirable. However, the cottage provided us the ideal location to relax, reconnect, share, and create wonderful memories. Because our brother has been so ill this past year, being at the cottage was a mini-vacation away from home for him and his family each day -- truly a blessing. The kitchen is beautifully appointed, which allowed us to prepare several meals for our days at the beach. And then for those days we wanted to dine out, the proximity to St. Augustine's provided us the chance to experience the wonderful seafood the area has to offer. Pelican Pass Cottage is inviting, cozy, comfortable and charming; the beachcombing was awesome; the sunrises/moonrises were spectacular! Thank you, Carolyn, for allowing us the opportunity to experience Florida in such comfort.

What can two winter-weary Canadians say about Pelican Pass Cottage but what a wonderful and perfect place for a vacation! We visited from April 22 to 29, 2006. Everything you could ever need is included in the cottage, it was spotless and bright, the view of the ocean is awesome and being able to sit on the deck and watch it for hours is an amazing and restful holiday. The dolphins went by at 9:00 a.m. almost every morning and the pelicans are flying over it all the time. Thanks to Carolyn Woods for the opportunity to enjoy such a lovely experience and given the opportunity, we will return without hesitation.

The pictures don't do this great spot justice. The house is quite large, perfect for our group of 10. The beach really is spectacular, practically hidden from strangers and the waves are great. The added value comes with the kayaks! I was not far from shore on one when dolphins started playing around me. The whole experience was surreal. The view is in my top 5 ever; and I've been around the world. Thank you to Carolyn Woods for having us!
