It is named for the blue lupine plant, which lives in the dune scrub along Florida's Emerald Coast. Its fuzzy blue leaves and purplish blue flowers that look like tiny sweet peas are perhaps what gave Blue Mountain its unusual name. (The mountain part is perhaps because of the height - 345 feet above sea level at its highest point.) Our Lupine home rests high overlooking the white sand beach and beautiful Gulf waters.
