Barrier Dunes at Cape San Blas is located 33 miles from St George Island and about 48 miles from Panama City Beach Florida and only 24 miles from Apalachicola Florida. Eighteen miles from Port St Joe Florida and 28 miles to Mexico Beach for parasailing! Yet very relaxing quiet time on the beach! And a very ,very , family place.
This is a pet friendly beach located in Florida's panhandle. Many, many, miles and miles away from ordinary. No traffic or smog here and the water is just beautiful and looks like the Bahamas! It is crystal clear and fish are abundant. Just jumping around! A real Florida vacation retreat for you and your family to make beautiful memories.
Barrier Dunes has a gulf front pool, another pool by the tennnis courts, private beach access, a gated community and also a pool by the tennis court which is lighted..and a kiddie playground to boot. Golfing close by and chartered fishing available, canoeing, boat rides, moonlight boat rides during the sunset and the freshest seafood available!
Barrier Dunes is located in The Florida Panhandle on Cape San Blas
which is 25 miles from Apalachicola Fl,33 miles from St George Island,
Saint George Island and about fifty miles from Panama City Beach yet
so far away from the crowds with quiet time on a Florida beach.It

Inside tip: The very best time to find unusual sea shells is right
after a full moon.
You can catch fish at the lighthouse (from Locals) Use shrimp bait!
March through May you can catch Sea trout, red fish, ladyfish,
Spanish mackeral, blue fish, jack crevalle, flounder, pompano and
some shark and cobia and in
June through August you can catch Tarpon, tripletail, black drum and
shark.
Call Captain Earl Middeton with Congo Charters or Captain Blair Morgan with Blue Water Bandits for a wonderful day of fishing or you can sight see!
Plus Scallops will be in!
Then in August through December you can catch Red fish, mackeral,
sea trout, flounder,jack crevalle, scallops and shark.
November through March you can catch Striped Bass, sheephead, trout
and red fish.

Barrier Dunes at Cape San Blas....but to say about Patsy's Beach Place...we rented before on Barrier Dunes, and everyone is nice, friendly, and it is a safe and wonderfully restful environment. Patsy's Place is special as she has it decorated beautifully, it is the cleanest place we ever rented, and Patsy is always available if you need directions or anything and as she does not hire a management firm so her prices are much cheaper than any of the others. You can see the ocean and hear the ocean at night when you sleep....the boardwalk to the beach is only a few steps away, and the beach is one of the most beautiful you can ever see, and even though it is somewhat North of the Florida winter snow birds, the dunes keep you warm on the beach.
Just outside the gates to Barrier Dunes is a small restaurant called Cones that serves breakfast and lunch and has remarkable ice cream. On the way to Port St. Joe is another new good restaurant, and a sea food retailer that sells shrimp and fish at really good prices. Then on the way to Appalachola there is the famous Raw Oyster Bar, a landmark in itself...clean as a whistle inside, outside looks like it has been there 100 years....and great prices on steamed shrimp, oysters, and burgers, etc...
there are several good places to buy B B Q to go....I am sure Pat will tell you about those one in Port St. Joe one in Appalch.
We loved Barrier Dunes, there is some shopping in Port St. Joe and one really good restaurant, the Sunset Grill just as you get into town, but Appalachacola is fantastic...lots of good restaurants, and unique botiques.
Then, for about a 50 min drive you can drive North to Panama City .... where it is a real city with everything any BIG city would have....
Patsy is wonderful as she goes out of her way to make everything perfect for your winter break....
