The Lakeview home has 180 degree lake views overlooking beautiful Long Lake; this rental offers a tranquil setting for all guests. There is a boat dock on the lake, a gradual walk in beach and an outdoor gas fire pit one a granite patio to enjoy some summertime evenings outside. This home has many non-motorized watercrafts for guests use and is equipped with both adult and child-sized kayaks, paddleboat, canoe, row boat and many water toys, making it perfect for a fun family vacation, fishing retreat, or just a romantic getaway. The Lakeview home has air conditioning in the main area, as well as units in the bedrooms for the hot summer weather. There are two large living areas with flat screen TVs, DVD with a DVD library and lots of games for fun family entertainment. The house is equipped with a guest computer and high speed wifi. Bring your motorized boat and it can be launched on the public boat ramp and parked on the Lakeview dock in front of the home and there is lots of parking for your vehicles and trailer.
Centrally located on Long Lake, Lakeview is a short two minute drive or ten minute walk to local malls, grocery stories, and recreation areas. This area of Nanaimo is conveniently close to everything you may desire. The ocean is a short distance from the lake and there are many ocean parks to enjoy. The historic downtown core with its charming Old City Quarter is less than a leisurely ten minute drive away as well. There are also many restaurants, cafes, and coffee houses found in the modern locale of central Nanaimo. Though you won't need them, there are many beautiful parks and, trails within walking distance from this spacious rental. Central biking trails from the Lakeview home are only a convenient two minute ride.

I stayed at lakeview homes this past summer with my family. We have 5 kids, plus my parents and a visiting nefew! The house was perfect for us, spacious for all the kids, (and even a ping pong table!) clean and such amazing view! We had such a blast going into the backyard for early morning kayaking before heading out for the day, and usually again when we came home. It was such a special trip, and being on the lake really added to our vacation. My kids -and parents- still talk about it months later- we hope to be back to make more amazing family memories. I am a regular at Lakeview Vacation Homes. I first started at a B & B across the lake at the Whitehouse in 2000. The proprietor Karin was an incredible hostess, and treated her guests as family. When Karin decided to relocate across the lake we followed her. She gave her Vacation Homes the same hospitality as her B & B across the lake. The accommodations are A1. Second to none. I kid you not. We have enjoyed many years of knowing what to expect when we walk through the door. Check this beautiful part of the Island and surrounding areas as there is an array of activities for all. Just to list a few within reach are Tofino, The Rainforest, Casino, majestic gardens, cultural events, watching eagles as thy fly over the lake, watching sculling on the lake. I am sure you will agree that this is Canada's most beautiful Island. I am not sure if this is still in effect, however, I have seen float planes land. Whether you are doing a locum at the local hospital, or here for a short term contract, or wanting somewhere to just relax...This is the place. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do. This was a great place to stay and a treat for us to have extra bedrooms and bathrooms, and the house was so nicely furnished. A bonus to be able to use the kayaks and paddleboat. We enjoyed our evenings here on the water of Long Lake, after our day trips and sightseeing the surrounding area. Our trips included Horne Lake Caves, Qualicum Beach, Englishman River falls, Little Qualicum Falls, the Salmon Ladder at Stamp River and Cathedral Grove. Can't forget the goats on the roof in Coombs. Thank you so much for your hospitality and wonderful home.

Next time, we’ll get out on the lake, we did however get out on the ocean twice to prawn, crab and fish. Our friends came to visit and loved the house and the view as well. The calming surroundings became a santuary for me.
