Description

"Steel-n-Away" is the name we have given our family's lakeside retreat on beautiful Duck Lake, and we offer you the opportunity of staying here with your family for a memorable vacation! This 4-bedroom 3 bath home is furnished with hardwood flooring, brand new colorful and contemporary furnishings and equipped with satellite TV/DVDs throughout the house, high speed internet and phone service.
You will immediately feel the beachhouse atmosphere as you enter the open floorplan of the livingroom, kitchen and dining room which all looks out onto a roomy waterfront deck. Two bedrooms and one bath are to your right and can sleep 6 people. The serene lakeside bedroom has a king bed and the rear bedroom is ideal for the kids, furnished with two modern bunkbeds. Both are serviced by a central bath.
To the left of the central living area, you enter the light and airy den, with a convenient bar and furnished with a queen sleeper sofa. Through the den, you have a wonderful private bedroom with a full bed and twin trundle bed; this bedroom has a separate entrance to the outside for those that want to escape for an early round of golf.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is gorgeous and sunny with a queen bed and adjoining well-lit master bath, equipped with a walk-in shower and whirlpool tub. For planning purposes, although the house is air conditioned, this room gets slighter warmer than the rest of the bedrooms in the house.
The home comes with laundry facilities and enclosed garage. Your stay will include all linens and towels, and the kitchen is fully equipped for preparing your family meals.
This wonderfully updated home sits on 3 acres and there is plenty of parking for family cars, boat trailers and visitors. The deck is furnished with large in-line weber gas grill and patio furniture. Sit and watch the sun go down over the peninsula or watch the children as they enjoy playing and swimming in the water. Duck Lake is a 1,930 acre all-sports quiet lake and it is great for fishing, recreational boating, or taking sunset cruises on a pontoon boat We have a private dock, so bring your boat, or rent boat and have it delivered to your door.
Our location is very convenient to all our local attractions. Traverse City is only 12 minutes northwest of the home, Crystal Mountain is 25 minutes away, and Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore is an easy 30-minute drive. We are open all year, so come up in the spring to enjoy the discounted golf at over 27 area golf courses or go steelhead fishing or walleye fishing in some of the best lakes around. Fall is ideal for those group trips to enjoy the colortour or to visit one of over 18 local wineries. And winter is great for enjoying skiing and snowmobiling with your friends. Groomed Grand Traverse snowmobile trails, Crystal Mountain downhill skiing, and various cross-country trails all becken you to come and enjoy the winter weather. Afterwards, sit and enjoy cocktails by the fireplace.
