Description

Our lake, Big Round, in Polk County WI is an excellent fishing lake. Many come and use the public landing just so they can fish. One family who rented from us caught a 21 inch walleye! I can't say as I have had that kind of luck, of course it might help if I would go out fishing!The folks who stayed June 23, 24 caught and released 100 bass!! For details you can look us up on the Wisconsin DNR site. The lake is 1015 acres and on the shallow side. We have used it for both fishing and jet skiing and others water ski.
We have a large yard on the road side of the cabin. We have two trees that we use for volleyball (we have a nice net and very nice volleyball) so it could also be used for badminton. The same yard could be used for croquet. Yes you may bring a fishing boat. There are several options for a tent.
We do not have air conditioning. There are ceiling fans in the living room and the porch. We also have a small table fan for a bedroom and a floor fan for where ever. Each of the small bedrooms sleeps two, one a double bed and the other a trundle. The big room downstairs has two twin beds and one double with more space on the floor. The sofa is a queen size hide a bed.
The presence of bald eagles is awesome. We see many every day. They have nested in a tree in our neighbor's lot so we have even seen young eagles. Another very notable highlight is the sunsets. It is also very quiet. We rarely are disturbed by sounds other than loons and other nature.
We have a nearly new pontoon with a sunning deck in the front. When we swim we like to take the pontoon out into the lake so we can dive, etc. and use the ladder to get back into it. Younger kids would like swimming from the dock but it is gravelly so they should have water shoes. There is also a paddle boat available for anyone to use. Anyway, I am getting a little wordy...it is a fun and comfy place to be.
It is $1295 /week plus $500 for the pontoon if you want it. The security deposit is a check for $500 that will be returned when you leave. We have never used any of the deposit. We ask for a $250 non refundable deposit to reserve the date just for you and four weeks prior to your arrival we need payment in full. Check in is 4 pm on day of arrival and check out at noon on day of departure. We charge no cleaning fee if it is left in decent shape.
