Description
|
The cottage was architect-designed in 1952 and features glass window walls in the living and dining rooms which overlook the lake and woods. The living room has a large stone heatilator fireplace and comfortable seating area with TV/VCR. The dining room has a large table that seats 10 comfortably. The kitchen was recently remodeled and has a dishwasher and is fully stocked with dishes, flatware, pots, and pans.
There is a master bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with twin beds, and a third bedroom with a single bed. The hall bathroom has a tub and shower. Linens and towels are provided.
Silver Lake Cottage is situated on 200 feet of lake frontage and has a dock with seating area, a rowboat, and a private cove with a sandy beach.
Pets and smoking are not allowed. The house is not handicapped accessible.

The cottage is on Silver Lake in Forest County and the property is secluded, quiet, and wooded. Nearby water recreation includes swimming, fishing, and water skiing. Other nearby recreation includes golf, hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. There is a supper club and adjacent public golf course and a large public sandy beach.
Laona is a 19th century logging town that features the Lumber Jack Special Steam Train station for the ride to Camp Five Museum in antique passenger cars and rare cupola cabooses pulled by a Vulcan 2-6-2 steam engine. Camp Five offers a Logging Museum and Nature Center, a working Blacksmith Shop, a petting zoo, the Rat River Natural Wildlife Tour, the Green Treasure Forest Tour, the authentic 1900 Cracker Barrel store, and the Choo-Choo Hut refreshment stand and picnic area.
Visit the Potowatami Nation Tribal Center which features a historical and cultural center and native American craft shop, located between Laona and Crandon. The Potowatami Nation also has a casino with bingo.
Silver Lake is 1 by 3 miles and has a water depth of 25 feet. Motors are allowed on the lake. Fish include perch, blue gill, walleye, musky, bass, and northern pike. |
