Located on the beautiful California Coast just 81 miles north of Eureka, Crescent City California is "where the Redwoods meet the sea". Our Northern California Coastal Vacation Rental is a 1918 "Craftsman Style" Home which I restored in 2001-2002. Very nicely located just 1 block from Brother Jonathan Park (kid oriented) and 2 blocks from Brother Jonathan Point (with fantastic ocean and mountain views) and nearby beach access (3 blocks).
Our amenities include cable TV/VCR/stereo surround sound, local phone, BBQ (gas) and (brickette). Washer/dryer, iron & board, all linens and bedding, full kitchen. All dishes, pots and pans, microwave, bagel toaster, automatic coffee maker, etc.
The outdoor activities include a visit to Redwood National Park with miles and miles of hiking/walking trails through The Giant Coastal Redwood Trees and huge ferns along the banks of the beautiful Smith River.
River and Ocean fishing (rock cod, ling cod, halibut, salmon), river fishing (salmon, steelhead, native trout) hiking, camping, surfing.
The annual Gasquet Raft Races on the Smith River, The Lily Festival, The Azalea Festival,The Aleutian Goose Festival, Whale watching, Bird watching, protected wet lands, 100's of miles of forest and sea trails, The Sea Cruise Car Show.
Battery Point Lighthouse (circa 1851) and Point Saint George Lighthouse (the most expensive lighthouse ever built on the western US Coast) both historical wonders. Come visit us and enjoy the oldest Redwood trees on earth and the beautiful sunsets into the Pacific Ocean.
" The influence of the sea is omnipresent. Cool ocean mists nurture the giant redwoods. Rich offshore fishing grounds support a thriving commercial fishery. The rocky chasms and thrilling whitewater of the Smith River - California's largest wild river system - form the spectacular centerpiece of the 305,337 acre Smith River National Recreation Area. And throughout Del Norte County, diverse river- and sea-creature habitats support an incredible array of wildlife. Magnificent forest trails, sandy beaches, and river rafting are all close at hand. Yet for all its accessibility, Del Norte County is unspoiled and uncrowded - perhaps the most remarkable fact of all.
